This is a recorded live Q&A webinar where I answer questions on pressure point fighting, training, self-defence and boxing. Questions came in before and during the webinar, and it runs for around 45 minutes.

It is for anyone who trains in any of those areas, whether you are just starting out or have been at it for years. A Q&A is a good way to pick up answers to the questions you did not even know you had.

Why Q&A Sessions Are Useful

A course takes you through a subject in order. A Q&A does something different. It goes where the questions take it. That means you hear the problems real people are struggling with, and often one answer clears up something you have been stuck on for a long time.

The questions people ask usually come back to a few big themes:

  • Does pressure point fighting really work? And if so, why does it sometimes not?
  • How should I train? What to practise, how often and how hard.
  • What works in self-defence? Simple, reliable methods for real situations.
  • How do I box better? Footwork, power, defence and the basics.

Principles That Come Up Again And Again

Whatever the question, the answers I give usually come back to the same principles. Take the balance first. Keep things simple. Stay relaxed, because tension slows you down and kills power. Hit at the right angle. Train honestly, so that what you practise holds up under pressure.

These are the same principles I teach in boxing, in pressure point fighting and in self-defence. They do not change, because the human body does not change.

Training Safely

Pressure point work can hurt, and some techniques can knock a person out. Always train with control and with a cooperative partner, at low power. In self-defence, avoiding a fight is always the first choice, and any force you use must be reasonable for the situation.

How To Use This Video

Watch it with a notebook. Write down any answer that applies to you and test it in your next training session. If something is unclear, go back and watch that part again.
