Once you understand how and why the shoulders affect, balance, distance and power, you can really start to incorporate using them much more in your training.
You can TAKE the balance, strength and power AWAY from your opponent very quickly and easily – and give yourself that window of opportunity to strike.
The strike will have a better effect because your opponent is off balance and less able to absorb the shot.
