Group Information
Category:
Name:
Uchinadi fighting science group
Description:
Devoted to the study of old style karate for real world self defence and not sport karate.

Okinawan karate from the 15th century to the late 19th was influenced not only by chinese martial arts but also to a lesser degree took concepts and training methods from south east asia. Okinawa had trading routes reaching down to Siam, Java, Korea as well as Japan and China.

My training has had to include going out side the karate that is largely taught today and by doing so I have through my own experience learned much that had been unclear(Noticibly kata applications) and which I never got any satisfactory answeres from my karate sensei.

The uchinadi fighting science group is devoted to applying modern self defence training concepts and reintroducing the realistic training that enables those who stay the distance to learn real fighting skills rather than sport.

The uchinadi fighting science group is looking forward to adding the PP concepts, from Russell and discovering where these PP can be found within the kata taught within this group

We are interested in members who wish to contribute to the knowledge already within the group or just those who just wish to train.
